Introducing Sarah Rochford

Sarah joined our team in July 2016 after successful completion of the Insurance Program at Conestoga College.  Sarah has a passion for customer service and is looking forward to helping our clients with their insurance needs.

Sarah is a big movie buff; you may see her frequenting the local movie theatres in Waterloo. She is also a music enthusiast and likes attending concerts and festivals. In her spare time, Sarah enjoys photography, cooking, and spending time outdoors.

We are extremely pleased to welcome Sarah to the Conestoga Insurance family and know that our clients will enjoy dealing with her for years to come!

Is Your Liability Limit Sufficient?

We at Conestoga Insurance are constantly reviewing our client’s policies to ensure they have the broadest coverage for the best value.  Currently, we are in the middle of a review of your liability limits on all policies.

Based on the current litigious state of the insurance industry in Ontario, we are suggesting that increasing your liability limit would serve as valuable protection.  Even doubling your liability limit can be very inexpensive.

Many clients are not aware that if damages are levied against you over your policy limits; your insurance company will only pay up to your policy limits; resulting in you being personally responsible for all damages over your policy limits.

Please contact one of our Customer Service Brokers to discuss this important matter.  We will be happy to provide you with professional advice and a quote on this added protection.

Thank you for your continued support of Conestoga Insurance.  We value your business and are constantly working to provide you with peace of mind for your insurance needs.

Your Auto Insurance Benefits are Changing

Your auto insurance benefits are changing.  Before you renew your policy, you need to make important coverage decisions.

Effective June 1, 2016, the Ontario government has introduced changes to the automobile insurance system to help make insurance premiums more affordable. These changes only apply to auto insurance policies issued or renewed on or after June 1, 2016.

The changes will give you more choice over the coverages you select and the price you pay for auto insurance. Many of the changes affect the Statutory Accident Benefits you receive if you are injured in an auto accident, regardless of who is at fault. Some of these benefits have been reduced and some options for increased coverage have been eliminated or changed.

Our Broker Association has created a video, highlighting the importance of selecting the appropriate benefit limits for your Ontario Auto Policy.

Your renewal policy, after June 1, 2016, automatically has the new lower standard benefits that will take effect on your renewal date. The most significant changes to your policy are:

Your policy won’t change until it is time for it to be renewed. When you receive your renewal documents you will also be provided with more information on the changes and your new options. This will help you make an informed decision.

After June 1, 2016, you can choose to make changes to your existing policy to take advantage of the new levels and options, without having to wait for it to come up for renewal.

Please contact our office to discuss these important changes to your auto policy.

Leslie Turnbull

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of a member of our Conestoga Insurance Family.

Leslie Turnbull, our receptionist lost her courageous battle with cancer on January 25, 2016.

For over 15 years Leslie was the voice of Conestoga Insurance. Her beautiful smile and cheerful, caring personality will be forever missed by all of us.

Leslie was one of the kindest women you could meet and always genuinely took an interest and the time to chat with everyone that walked through our door.

We are all better people for having known Leslie. She made the world a better place and was taken from us far too soon.

Home Inventory

It’s that time of year again: time to commit to a resolution in search of a fresh start. If you haven’t set a resolution yet, here’s one: take stock of what you have. If you received valuable gifts over the holidays – electronics and jewelry, for example – your home or tenant’s insurance policy should include the value of these items.

Most policies operate on an annual basis. Before renewing your policy, speak with a licensed insurance broker in our office to make sure your coverage reflects the value of what you have.

How much insurance is enough?

To find out how much insurance is enough, make an inventory of all your possessions:

  1. Note the approximate replacement value of each item, along with makes, models, serial numbers and other identifying marks.
  2. Keep receipts for major items, if possible.
  3. Draw up a list of all the items in each room and remember to update it as needed. You can also photograph or videotape your belongings.
  4. Store your inventory records in a safety deposit box or other secure location away from your home. This will simplify things should you need to file a claim.

As always, if you are unsure or have questions about your coverage, please feel free to contact our office to review your coverage with one of our licensed insurance brokers.

Social Media Tools

As you can see, Conestoga Insurance has launched a new website to highlight our product offerings! The new website walks you through the various products and services that Conestoga Insurance has to offer; from automobile insurance to business insurance, we have your needs covered.

We at Conestoga Insurance felt that it was important to have a rating engine for personal insurance services on-line, as we recognize that customers are looking for premium indications for their residential and automobile needs.  You now have the ability to receive a premium indication with some pertinent information with respect to your residential and automobile insurance. This premium indication is then passed on to a licensed insurance broker, who will contact you to go over your insurance needs.

We understand that business insurance can be complicated. Our goal is to simplify and explain the essential coverages your business will need in order to be properly protected.  We realize that not all businesses are the same; so we tailor our coverage to meet your needs. In the Commercial Services section, you will find a business insurance questionnaire that will allow us to gather some critical information on your business to help obtain a business insurance quotation.

We at Conestoga Insurance realize that having an insurance claim can be a stressful occurrence. Our goal is to remove the stress and get you back to the place you were prior to your loss as soon as possible.  Understanding how the claims process works is very important in order to determine if there is coverage and what are the steps that need to be taken to submit a claim.

There are two processes to consider when a claim occurs:

  • Reporting process if your claim occurs during regular business hours
  • Reporting process if your claim occurs after regular business hours

The claims process section outlines the specific claims process for all claims during or after regular business hours.

For our existing customers a FAQ section has been created. These are common questions that we receive from our clients. However, as always, if you have specific questions about your insurance policy, feel free to contact our office and speak to a licensed insurance broker.

In the About Us section, you can become familiar with the family at Conestoga Insurance. Our customer service and sales & management team put a priority on customer service, ensuring we tailor our approach to meet your needs.

Finally, Conestoga Insurance has launched three new social media tools! We feel communication is important and we will be using these social media outlets to share items that pertain to your insurance needs as well as interesting articles in the news world. Feel free to follow us on Twitter & LinkedIn as well as like us on Facebook!

Whether you prefer to do business online, in person, or over the phone, our multi-facet service approach will adapt to the needs of your busy lifestyle.

Our company is a family business. We specialize in personal service and know the importance of speaking to a real person when you call. We trust you can see the advantage of dealing with a company with heart. I am sure you will find there is a difference at Conestoga Insurance.
